Very sad today to hear of the passing of Doddie Weir, Scotland rugby great
A sad day, Scotland has truely lost a great character, player and man
RIP big man … it was never a case of mistaken identity
Thought i would share this wee painting I did in the year 2000 to mark the occasion, seems like another lifetime ago.
This was his final season and i was a regular for Rugby World magazine at the time.
Scotland had won the last ever five nations the year before and we entered the season basking in optimism and euphoria, a hangover from the year before.
He’s here with Bryan Redpath and John Leslie, pondering what the new year, and millennium, would bring.

Painted a boys bedroom this week- Hayden is mad keen on Champions league football. He picked his 8 favourite players and I painted on board in the studio. Then I sneaked in and decorated the wall of his bedroom while he was at school. #football #championsleague #messi #ronaldo #salah #portraits #residential #artwork #crowds #lewondowski
